Summer Skin & Hair Care Tips

Summer has arrived, and with it the smoldering heat and sun, which can cause quite a few skin issues, as well as the shorter clothes and swimsuits, that drive most of us straight to the gym, in search of ways to lift and tighten everything we’ve neglected over the winter.

To simplify this process and make it more pleasant, we’ve put together a list of special summer tips that will help you look and feel your best from head to toe.

1. Keep Your Face Clean

During the summer, you should wash your face more often – preferably 3-4 times a day, using a gentle cleanser that is suited to your skin type. You should also avoid cream-based cleansers, and opt for foaming ones, such as our gentle, natural based Achillea Soapless Soap, that cleans and disinfects at the highest level, and can replace your toner as well.

2. DIY Summer Face Mask

This natural homemade mask can help keep your skin nourished and hydrated during the summer:

Ingredients: ½ avocado, ½ teaspoon coconut oil, 2 teaspoons honey

Preparation: mash the avocado and mix it with the other ingredients until you have a smooth paste. Apply to your face and leave it on for 15 minutes, then wash it off with regular water.

3. Hydrating Diet

Keeping your body hydrated is especially important during the summer when we lose lots of liquid due to the heat and outdoor activities. Therefore, you should make sure to take in extra fluids in your diet by drinking plenty of water and eating healthy, fluid-rich foods such as fruits and vegetables.

4. Easy on the Makeup

Summer is a good time to go for the more natural look, using lighter colors and more delicate makeup. You should also consider using waterproof products that will hold up better in hot and humid conditions.

5. Body Care

While it is important to nurture our body throughout the entire year, it is more important to do so during summer, when we’re more exposed. Our self-awareness rises and we begin to notice our stretch marks and cellulite that we overlooked during the winter months.

So how do you get rid of them?

6. Proper Protection

7. Hair Protection

Even our hair can suffer from extended exposure to the elements, especially when going to the beach or the pool. Therefore, to help keep your hair shiny and soft, try using olive or coconut oil before going into the water.

8. Hair Care

9. Natural Foot Care
